Therapy is not typically meant to be on-going forever, though it does look very different for everyone. The length of time in treatment will also depend on your goals. Some people may benefit from brief treatment, 6-12 sessions, while others may benefit from long term treatment if they are working on multiple goals. Throughout the process we will discuss your progress. As you progress, we will decrease how often you are seen to help build your confidence in coping independently. As therapy is simply one form of supportive intervention, during treatment we will work to identify resources for you to aid in navigating stressors outside of therapy ranging from community services, support groups, medication management and social supports.
